چکیده

The thrust characteristics of a large-expansion-ratio annular expansion–deflection (ED) nozzle are investigated based on detailed flow pattern simulations. purpose is to build bridge between the internal and performance. present work traces parameters along typical streamlines demonstrate pattern, partitions exit plane its features evaluate contributions each coefficient contributor in different sub-areas, monitors parameter distributions at 22 pressure ratios interpret developing histories coefficients. simulations show that shocks generated open wake mode both inevitable indispensable, while closed contribute negatively Three basic requests for designing high-performance ED clarified, which ensure high-quality expansion throat, smooth out reflected shock mode, diminish strong near-wall mode. An interesting counter-intuitive phenomenon, namely, existence not only consumes ability exhaust do but also improves overall performance, explained. This because deflects lateral-going axial direction. When this disappears, sudden drop history takes place.

Numerical Investigation of Supersonic Nozzle Flow Separation

S EPARATION of supersonic flow in a convergent–divergent nozzle is a fundamental fluid phenomenon that affects a large variety of applications, from fuel systems to aircraft engine nozzles. When a supersonic nozzle is operated at pressure ratioswell below its design point, a shock forms inside the nozzle andflowdownstreamof the shock separates from the nozzle walls. Even though flow separation ...

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

Numerical investigation of the discharge characteristics of the pulsed discharge nozzle.

The characteristics of the plasma generated by a pulsed discharge slit nozzle (PDN) are investigated. The PDN source is designed to produce and cool molecular ions creating an astrophysically relevant environment in the laboratory. A discharge model is applied to this system to provide a qualitative as well as a quantitative picture of the plasma. We find that the plasma's properties and behavi...

A Numerical Investigation of Unsteady Bubbly Cavitating Nozzle Flows

The effects of unsteady bubble dynamics on cavitating flow through a converging-diverging nozzle are investigated numerically. A continuum model that couples the Rayleigh–Plesset equation with the continuity and momentum equations is used to formulate unsteady, quasi-one-dimensional partial differential equations. Flow regimes studied include those where steady-state solutions exist, and those ...
